Kickoff of partnering with Google for teaching coding in its Schools

Federal Secretary for Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui chaired the meeting in Ministry office on 21-April-2020. Ministry of IT & Telecommunication collaborates with Google to launch Pakistans first ever significant level programming skills development program. It is based on a global initiative for coding skills named as CS First Program. This program is developed for the kids between age of 9 and 14 years to help learn code and to develop applied coding skills. The programming tool which will be used in this regard is known as Scratch, which is developed by the MIT. Tech Valley Pakistan is the official partner of Google, which will assist the MoITT in the rolling out of this program nationwide.

Telecom Foundation Schools will be benefitted from the first phase of this program by bringing digital skills to underserved communities. The program will be mainly divided into two parts; Train the Trainer followed by orientation of students on the said platform. The program will assist the TF Schools in developing an integrated curriculum for adopting the course on a continuous basis.
